Holystone Primary School

Together we enjoy, discover and learn

Welcome

Welcome to Holystone Primary School

I would like to welcome you to the Holystone Primary School website. I am immensely proud to be Headteacher of such a vibrant, and popular school. In the last 20 years the school has grown from a small village first school (which I was lucky enough to be placed in as a trainee teacher) to the successful two form entry primary school of choice within North Tyneside.

Our school motto “together we enjoy, discover and learn” encapsulates our approach to education, with enjoyment and fun being every bit as important as academic excellence.

To support our pupils’ personal development, we have identified five core Holystone values which we try to promote across all of school life – Independence, Resilience, Respect, Community Spirit and Tolerance.

Each value is represented by a Core Value Character who you will see around our school and across this website and we feel they complement our promotion of the fundamental core British Values as we strive to produce well rounded and effective citizens for the future.

If you are interested in your child and your family joining the Holystone Community, you can find information about school admissions on this site.  We are a very popular school and whilst this is fantastic, it does mean that we are often operating at full capacity.  If you wish your child to join our school family, it may be worth contacting the school office for more information about the school catchment and admissions process.

I hope you find the information within our website useful, however, if you are unable to find what you are looking for, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

Welcome from the Chair of Governors Ms Raja Belghiti

Welcome to our school website.

I am very proud to be have been elected Chair of Governors at Holystone Primary School in July 2022.  I have two girls who have gone through the school, the eldest is now successfully working her way through high school and my youngest is currently in Year 5.

As school Governors, our most important role is monitoring the safety, welfare and education of all our children. To do this, we work as a team with the Headteacher and all school staff to help achieve the objectives set out in our school vision and our motto 'together, we enjoy, discover and learn' . We aim for all of our children to experience the very best possible enriched education and outcomes during their time here. As a Values-based school, it is our wish that all of our children become respectful, independent, resilient, community spirited and tolerant citizens of the future.

The Governing Body is involved with our school at every level. This includes safeguarding, finance, premises management and staff appointments. Governors are elected to ensure that objectives are defined and met, with future planning being appropriate and both visionary and realistic. Through our work, we shape and share the strategic vision and ethos of the school; monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the school; and hold the school to account for the standards achieved and the quality of education.

At Holystone Primary School, we are justifiably proud of the achievements of our children across the curriculum and of the excellent standards maintained in both their learning and behaviour across many years. We believe that this reflects the high quality of our dedicated teaching and support staff.

Every Governor at Holystone Primary is committed to working in the best interests of the school and to improving outcomes for all children.
