Home Learning

Holystone Home Learning Offer:

Nursery and Reception -
In the event  of a class bubble being required to isolate (or in the case of an individual pupil being required to self-isolate)  the Nursery or Reception staff will provide a series of practical activities focusing on core areas from the EYFS curriculum.  These will be uploaded daily via the Tapestry App.  All parents will be provided with a log-in for this app - should you not have access to this log-in then please contact the school.  Staff members will monitor the Tapestry site across each day and respond to pupil's uploaded work.  Staff will provide additional resources such as video introductions to tasks, story time and the like.  We appreciate that family circumstances will vary greatly, and the need to support home-learning may prove problematic for some.  We ask that as much work as is manageable is completed and uploaded.  If you have any worries around the supporting of home learning please contact the school.

Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2
For pupils in Years 1 to 6, we will use the SeeSaw App to set our home learning offer. In the event  of a class bubble being required to isolate (or in the case of an individual pupil being required to self-isolate)  the class teacher (or another teacher in the event of the class teacher being ill) will manage the programme of home learning remotely.  Daily English and Maths lessons will be posted, where possible following the programme of study that would have been followed in class.  Additional time will be allocated to educational apps such as Spelling Shed, TimesTables, Rockstars and MyMaths.  In Key Stage 1 an additional topic based daily lesson or activity will be provided.  In Key Stage 2 this will be two topic based daily lessons.
Teachers will monitor the SeeSaw App each day.  They will be responsible for the uploading of work and for responding to pupils as they upload their work and interact with the app.  Teachers will regularly post messages or videos introducing tasks or offering additional support.
Should you have any issues with regards to logging into the SeeSaw App then please contact the school.  We appreciate that family circumstances will vary greatly, and the need to support home-learning may prove problematic for some.  We ask that as much work as is manageable is completed and uploaded.  If you have any worries around the supporting of home learning please contact the school.
