Christmas performances Our Nursery and Reception classes thoroughly enjoyed presenting their Christmas plays this week and once again staged delightful performances. Thank you to the staff and children for their hard work preparing and rehearsing this term and to everyone else who contributed to these wonderful performances.
Christmas Fair - Congratulations to the PTA who organised another fantastic event in school this week. The fair was a huge success and everyone who came along and visited the various stalls and activities had a brilliant time. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the fair by making a donation or helping out and also to everyone who supported us by coming along on the day. The PTA will let us know next week exactly how much they were able to raise for school funds however early indications are that over £3000 has been raised. This includes Barclays fund matching on the amount raised by the sale of raffle tickets.
London 2012 Olympics – As we begin the countdown to the games all children in school will take part in a range of activities, beginning next term, to experience a flavour of the forthcoming 2012 Olympics. We also plan for a group of children to witness the Olympic flame as it makes its way through the borough later in the year.
Cold Weather – Now we are experiencing a return to very low temperatures and icy winds would you please ensure your children come in to school wearing warm coats, gloves, hats and scarves. The children enjoy playing out in the school yards much more when they are well wrapped up. Thank you.
Victorian visit – Children and staff in Year 6 took part in a residential visit to Cumbria this week to experience a traditional Victorian Christmas. They took a step back in time, experiencing Christmas as both servants and gentry. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the visit and returned full of festive spirit!
Teacher Training – A reminder that school will be closed for teacher training on Tuesday 3rd January and will re-open for pupils on Wednesday 4th January.
