Holystone School Council

The school council meets regularly to discuss ideas that might help improve the school environment. The council has representatives from Year 3 - Year 6.  All of the councillors have been elected by their classmates and meetings are chaired by Miss Sotudeh and Mrs Soulsby.  After each meeting, the children then lead a school assembly to make sure all other pupils can have their say and are kept up to date.

Council Representatives

Elections were held in each class in Autumn term, the following pupils were elected:

Year 3 - Owen & Ellen

Year 4 - Erin & Daisy

Year 5 - Oliver & Elliot

Year 6 - Mazie & Aidan

Playground Games

We bought some playground games such as big chess, parachute, noughts and crosses, long jump and giant dominos. We play with them every sunny playtime in the traverse wall area. Key stage 2 love to play with all the playground games; We bought the games with the money that Mr.Baines kindly donated to School Council.

PE Hoodies

Over the last couple of weeks we have decided we would like to get hoodies for ourdoor P.E becuse the children thought that their school jumper was not suitable for P.E. We couldn\'t decide which year groups should have a Holystone hoodie but the School Council have discussed it and agreed that it would be Years 5 and 6 who would own the hoodies. These Holystone P.E. hoodies will be introduced to the children at the beginning of the new school year.

Playground Markings

This year a lady called Helen  came into school, to chat to us about playground markings. The school council went on a trail outside and used chalk to draw our ideas. We think these markings will allow the children to use there imaginations to make up lots of fun games .The markings should be completed by the  the end of half term.

School badge and motto

Earlier this year we discussed having a new badge and motto. We wanted a badge and motto that would represent our school and everyone in it! A local company came up with a few ideas and we had a school vote. A child from Year 4 commented \"I love the new badge it\'s stylish, cool and perfect for Holystone!\" The circle of stones shows how we all work together and look after each other in our school.
